About

I am Sina Hafezi, an Iranian-British digital artist. My passion for art started from the music since the very young age by playing the piano when I was seven. The continued journey in the music led me to a point where I subconsciously started to see moving illustrations in my head at the time of piano playing. This natural tendency of musical illustration in my imagination was emphasised when I started composing my own songs after years.

Thanks to the cutting-edge image processing tools, I started to learn how to digitally realise my imaginations into pictures which resulted in a new hobby until I moved into my new flat where I decided to flourish the empty walls with my own digital artworks printed on canvas. Surprisingly the artworks received much interests from the friends and visitors as I was asked to make customized artworks for them. Such positive feedbacks and high interest from others gave me the courage and motivation to start sharing my digital artworks with the rest of the world in form of an online gallery.

As a patriotic Iranian with deep roots to the my first homeland, Iran, where I was born and raised, I decided to also admire the eastern elements and themes in the illustrative arts such as calligraphy by having their influence and footprints in some of my works. As a British citizen and a resident in London, the global hub of cultures, I had the chance to learn about the beauties of different cultures around the globe. This resulted in a separate collection named ‘International collection’, in addition to ‘Iran collection’.

Digital artwork is a side hobby for me in parallel to my main field of expertise and profession, which is science, research and engineering in the field of audio technology. I studied engineering and received my PhD in acoustic & audio signal processing, from Imperial College London. As a senior R&D engineer and researcher I have been involved in multiple collaborative industrial and academic audio & acoustic technology projects hosted or sponsored by Imperial College London, UCL, Meta/Facebook, C4DM and Silixa. My main field of interest in technology is Augmented and Virtual Reality (XR: AR/VR) in which I recently founded a startup, CIRCUMIX. In addition to science, technology and digital art, I also work as a songwriter and music producer under alias name ‘SINASOUND’ and have already released number of multi-genre multi-singer songs featuring different guest vocalists.
